Abraham Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address on November 19, 1863. This speech is one of the best known in American history, delivered by President Lincoln on a Thursday afternoon at the dedication of the Soldiers’ National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, four and a half months after the Union armies defeated those of the Confederacy at the Battle of Gettysburg.

 

Temple Beth Israel member Mr. Al Smith of the Civil War Roundtable of Greater Boston is a noted Civil War historian. He will speak about the history of this famous speech. Mr. Smith will arrive wearing the costume of … you will have to be there to find out what.
