Young Jewish Activists Panel and Home for Little Wanderers Project at Congregation Kahal B’raira

Start Date/Time: Sunday, March 18, 2018 9:00 AM
End Date/Time: Sunday, March 18, 2018 11:30 AM
Description:

Kahal B'raira is Greater Boston’s congregation for Humanistic Judaism. We have offered a nontheistic alternative in contemporary Jewish life since 1975. We are a welcoming, progressive, and inclusive community. Join us for Sunday School for Pre-K through 9th graders and our adult programming and service: What Are Young Adult Jewish Activists Thinking?

Our program will feature three young adult Jewish activists and organizations: J Street U, Open Hillel, and If Not Now. These activists will engage in different aspects of peace and justice work in Israel and Palestine. They will speak about why people their age are interested in this work as well as what they see as their roles as American Jewish activists.

The Sunday School will also be creating "welcome boxes" for children in foster care who often have few possessions when they move from home to home. Come help put the boxes together, write cards, etc… and bring empty shoeboxes, toiletries, and small toys to donate if you can. Donations will go to The Home for Little Wanderers.

The morning begins at 9:15am and is held at the Fayerweather Street School at 765 Concord Ave., Cambridge. For more information please visit: kahalbraira.org.
